Midwestern Farm Burger - the perfect change from a traditional burger! From www.overthebigmoon.com!

Hey friends! Summer has been crazy, with lots of guests and lots of summer cookouts! I’ve barbecued my Beef Teriyaki SkewersBacon Wrapped Chicken Kabobs and just regular hamburgers a bunch! They are of course amazing, but, it was time to try something new! Today I’m going to share with you this tasty and very non-traditional burger – the Midwestern Farm Burger!

They were such a hit! I made them when my sister and her family were here! It was such a great change from regular hamburgers! The bacon and egg were such a fun change of protein and the cream cheese and chive mixture seriously made the burger! I would have never thought to add that spread to the burger and it seriously made the burger for me!

Ingredients Needed:

5 Tbsp finely chopped fresh chives

8 oz cream cheese

8 slices bacon

4 eggs

1 ripe avocado

4 sandwich rolls

3 oz argula

1/2 cup alfalfa sprouts (about 3/4 oz.)

Directions and Assembly:

Finely chop the chives and mix into the cream cheese.

Heat a frying pan without oil or butter and fry the bacon in batches. Drain the bacon on paper towels and fry the eggs in the leftover bacon grease.

Halve the avocado and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh from the peel and cut into slices.

Heat the frying pan. Cut the rolls in half and grill cut side down for 2 minutes.

Spread the chive mixture onto the bottom halves of the buns.

Top with lettuce, bacon, avocado, egg and alfalfa sprouts. Sprinkle with (freshly ground) pepper. Put the top of the bun on the sandwich.

I was so excited to learn about Giant Food Stores and their awesome recipe site! All their recipes are super easy to prepare and affordable! Which gives you an easy way to provide a variety of meals to your family and guests! We always go out to my in-laws on the 4th of July weekend! My husband is from a small town and small town celebrations are always the best! My in-laws always rent a large waterslide for the kids, the town does an awesome parade, then they have a huge celebration down at the town park. My husband loves it, because they always have a big car show! And the kids love it, because they have tons of games, bounce houses, waterslides and yummy food! We always BBQ for dinner at my in-laws and this year I’m suggesting some of the new recipes that I got from the Giant Recipe Center. The Grilled Corn Salad and Philly Cheesesteak Burger are calling my name!
