Tomato Chicken Taco’s

I grew up knowing this recipe as just plain Chicken Taco’s – because this was the only way my mother made chicken taco’s.  I love this recipe – it 100% makes me think of my mama and I love that!  It is seriously so yummy too!

Here’s what you do:

ingredients

Gather your ingredients: Chicken Breasts, Tomato Sauce, Cumin, Garlic Powder and Pepper!

Cube your chicken breasts and sauté them in butter or oil until all the sides of the chicken are browned.

I like to season the chicken with pepper at this point!

Once Chicken is cooked on all sides – add the tomato sauce, garlic powder and cumin!  Taste at this point and add more seasoning if preferred!

I always prefer this taco to be served in a soft flour tortilla, but you can use whatever kind of taco shell that you prefer!  Layer on your sides: Cheese, Lettuce, Onion, Avocado, Etc.  I find you don’t really need tomato’s where you get that taste in your sauce, but surely it won’t hurt if you still want them.

Recipe:

4 Chicken Breasts
2 – 8 oz cans of tomato sauce
1 t cumin
1 t garlic poweder
1 t pepper

Cook chicken breasts and cut into small cubes. Mix chicken, tomato sauce, and seasonings on the stove. Best served in Soft Flour Tortillas.
