Be Healthy
Hey, it’s Amie from Dumbell Housewife! During my life I have done and tried everything pertaining to diet. I have over-eaten, under-eaten, counted calories, depleted carbs, supplemented and on and on. I am so excited to tell you that I have found my place. I have come to know exactly what works for my body to maintain what feels healthy to me. This is what we are all searching for, right? If you are going for just look, I will tell you right now you will never be happy. Now planning for a comp or contest is different. I am talking about finding something that will work for a long period of time. Something that is cohesive with families and work and relationships and time restraints. We will all go through times where we gain 5 pounds and lose 5 pounds but if you find the combination that makes a difference with your body then you are set. Find something that makes you feel amazing. Some signs that you are on the right path will be; you are full of energy, your skin looks amazing, your hair is healthy, you feel like you are running on full throttle. Find something that you can love and enjoy and own everyday. I am not saying that once you find the eating habits that work for you that you will never have to change. Life changes, hormones change, and circumstances change. At that time you can explore and readjust.
“EATING HEALTHY AND CLEAN IS NOT JUST ABOUT LOOKING GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE.
IT IS ABOUT FEELING GOOD ON THE INSIDE.” -Amie
There is two things that I want you to work on this month.
1-Start finding the foods that work with your body. There is a difference between eating healthy and fat loss eating. An example for me is, almonds. They are healthy, but when it comes to fat loss they do not work for my body. So, I want you to write down three foods that you have recognized work or don’t work for you.
2-Start discovering the kind of fitness that inspires you. For some it is crossfit, running or biking. Others it is bootcamps, spin or swimming. For me it has always been spin, weight training and martial arts. The second that I start my routine I am instantly pumped.
Don’t be afraid to try new things. There might be something that you try that will become your new love.
Ok, now your warm up is over. I am excited to share with you in the months to come my fave workouts, recipes and tips to get you to your best you! BEWARE, we have just left the #juststarted and gone into #amieshardcorestatus.
Last but definitely not least, we enter the giveaway zone. I just got back from Mr.Olympia this last weekend and found something that I am dying to try.

Lindsy
I love your posts, and am really excited for more!
My question for you, is what exercise is great to do while pregnant? I am trying my best to eat healthy and not throw my healthy living out the window, but find can’t seem to find exercises that are easy to do or maintain while pregnant. Thanks!

Hi Lindsy. First, congrats on the baby. Don’t be afraid to workout just as hard as you were before. My favorite things to do while I was pregnant with my kiddos was to spin my brains out and lift weights. I taught spin the day I had both my last two kids. 🙂 I have a arsenal of exercises that you could do at home or at the gym. Email me at amiedunsey@yahoo.com if you are interested and I will send some over. Love,Amie

I so love this – “EATING HEALTHY AND CLEAN IS NOT JUST ABOUT LOOKING GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE. IT IS ABOUT FEELING GOOD ON THE INSIDE.”
Just like what they said what you put inside your body matters more than you put on it 🙂
