Hey OTBM readers! It’s me, Jessica from Pretty Providence, Pam’s neighbor and good friend! Long time no…see? I’ve missed you guys, so I thought I’d stop by today and say what’s up. Oh ya, and help you gain a few extra lbs. by sharing my very, very favorite dessert of all time. It’s big praise I know, and I don’t make this claim lightly!

Now, back to the recipe at hand… my advice is, if you are making these for a big gathering, make two pans!

Chocolate Caramel Oat Bar Recipe:

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups oats
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/8 cups melted butter
Mix all ingredients together and press 1/2 of mixture into a 9×13 pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350*.
In the meantime, combine a 9-14oz bag of caramels and 1/2 cup unwhipped whipping cream and melt in the microwave. Mix well.

When oat crust comes out of the oven, sprinkle a whole bag of MILK chocolate chips over the top of it. Then, pour caramel mixture over the chocolate chips. Put the rest of the oat mixture over the top. Bake again at 350* for 12-15 minutes. Watch while cooking to be sure you don’t under or over cook.

*Note: You might have to make the rest of the mixture into pancakes by hand in order to spread it over the whole top.

Now comes the hardest part, try not to eat the ENTIRE pan by yourself.

Thanks for having me Pam and Lisa!
