Last year was the first year without my Mom and I felt I had to put everything up and could not part with any of it. This year I was able to downsize and I’m really happy with the simpler version of our decor this year. I felt like I was able to take what I had from my Mom and help it blend better with my style of decor.
I am in love with our mantle. I’ve always wanted a really great nativity focal point and I love this one welded by a local craftsman. It’s made of metal and gorgeous! My hubs made the backdrop for it with some scrap wood that I painted. At night it lights up and looks amazing!
Here is a sample of the rest of our house.
Love these free chalkboard printables from Nest of Posies!
I put all my nativites on my pallet backed booskshelf and I love the look of the wood behind them.
The bottom two shelves are for the kids! They are fun things they can touch and play with. It includes our Little People Nativityset, My First Christmas Tree, my Grandfathers old trains, and our little scenes that open and shut.
I love our Christmas town set up on the pool table! We added a skating rink this year that we got at the thrift store for $10! Awesome!
Then our front porch!
The sled was another $10 purchase from the thrift store!
I finally have enough wreaths to put over all my lights!
For my window boxes I added poinsettias with some pine cones and deco mesh.
And then of course our fireplace!
Its been so cozy this month!
