Easter Dirt Cake is my kids favorite of all our Easter treats! Dirt cake for Easter may even be cuter than our Halloween version, what do you think?

Fun and easy easter dirt cake! Is it just my kids or does every child feel like it is ridiculously fun to eat "dirt?" My kids love our traditional dirt cake so much that I decided to switch it up and make a fun Easter dirt cake version with peeps and cadbury eggs instead of the traditional gummy worms.

    Easter Dirt Cake

Suffice it to say, it was a HUGE hit and we have been making it for years now with rave reviews.

If this isn't your thing though, we have tons of other yummy easter treats you are sure to love. Try our bunny tail cookies, our easy Cadbury Mini Egg Brownies, or our ever popular White Chocolate Cadbury Covered Oreos.

Or check out our entire Easter gallery for lots of other fun treats and ideas.

But back to the star of the show...

    Dirt Cake for Easter

Made just like a regular dirt cake, but with a secret ingredient in my cream cheese layer that takes this recipe over the top. You ready for the easy step by step pictorial?

    easter dirt cake process shots

Top Left - Prepare your pudding according to package directions and place in fridge to set. Crumble your chocolate cookies using a food processor and spread evenly along the bottom of a 9x13 pan.

Top Right - Spread pudding evenly over the chocolate cookie layer.

Bottom Left - In a separate bowl combine your sweetened condensed milk, cool whip and softened cream cheese and beat until smooth. Add in a few drops of green food coloring. Spread evenly over pudding layer.

Bottom Right - Now crumble your white sandwich cookies using a food processor, then stir in food coloring until crumbs reach your desired color. Garnish with Cadbury mini eggs and Peeps. Let chill in the fridge for at least 15 minutes or until ready to serve.

This dirt cake for Easter is super rich too, so you really only need a little bit to curb that sweet craving.

They can easily be made as Easter dirt cups, as well.

How long does this last before the cookies get soggy? Wondering if I can make it tonight for tomorrow after church.

I remember having dirt cake before, but I could never find the right recipe to replicate it. I'll try yours out and see if it's the same. Yours looks great with the crushed cookie topping!
