Pam happened to mention that she didn’t have a whole lot of fun headbands and bows for Dylan and so I wanted to spoil the little miss with some head bling. After dropping some serious $$$ on some from a boutique, my amazing friend, Carly, told me the secret to her daughters darling bead bands – Stretchy Ribbon! We can get it at our local Ace Hardware in St George and our Joanne’s Fabric carries some too.
Seriously how cute are these headbands?
They are so cute and they can be worn plain or you can put a flower or bow on them!
There are so many ribbons that I had a hard time deciding – luckily with the price being so good, I didn’t have to decide!
All I had to do was cut the ribbon to the right size and then put a small dollop of hot glue on the end of the ribbon and stick the other edge on.
It’s that easy!
Here is a general idea of sizing for baby headbands:
Newborn (12 inches)
3-6 Months (13 inches)
6-12 Months (14 inches)
12-18 Months (15 inches)
18-24 Months (16 inches)
3 Years (17 inches)
4-5 Years (17 inches)
6 Year-Adult (18 inches)
And just one more picture of Carly’s darling baby who seriously melts my heart and was an excellent model!

Do you find that the glue holds well? Do you just put the seam towards the back of the head?

Thank you so much for this great tutorial. I have a daughter on the way and I can’t wait to begin making these for her.

I am wondering what brand is the ribbon? I don’t think I have ever seen stretchable or elastic ribbon before. Just adorable!

I don’t know the brand but our local fabric store has a section of it. You might just ask at your local store. Wish I could be more helpful!
