Hey guys! Kari here, from Rad + The Rest (Formerly Life PreKARIous). This DIY Indoor Plant Stand was such a fun project! I’m so excited to share all the deets with you!
You’ll need just a few simple supplies to finish your own DIY Indoor Plant Stand:
+Tomato cage
+Heavy wire cutters
+Gold spray paint
+Small foam or felt pads
First things first, the tomato cage… I had a hard time finding one that wasn’t super crooked. The one I used is still a little lopsided, but just try to find the straightest one you can.
Next, cut the top and bottom off of the tomato cage. I used some heavy duty wire cutters, but a grinder would work well, too. Tomato cages aren’t the most glamorous things to photograph, but here’s a photo so you can see exactly where to cut.
Once the cage is cut, you’ll want to paint it. I chose gold, because…duh. I always choose gold!
After the paint is dry, add some small felt or foam pads to the bottom of your new Plant Stand. The pads help to level the stand and also protect your floor.
Now, add your plant! Mine is an aloe vera, which is one of the few plants I’ve managed to keep alive longer than two weeks! I’m working on my green thumb, but I’m still a total newb!
I am SO happy with how it turned out! It’s the perfect addition to my living room!
It was such a simple project, I think I might make a few more! A white plant stand with a gold planter would be so cute! You can head over to Rad +The Rest to see how to make your own gold leaf planter to pair with your new DIY Indoor Plant stand, too!
XOXO
