Hey guys! It’s Kari from Life PreKARIous. How cool is this DIY outdoor Tic Tac Toe game?!

I love summer but I don’t love the “I’m bored” soundtrack that seems to be on repeat at my house lately. This game keeps my kids occupied and outside soaking up some fresh air and vitamin D.

Here’s what I used:

– wood board (mine is 16″ x 20″)
– stain (color to preference)
– spray p aint
– painters tape
– rocks
– dish (to hold the rocks)
– latex paint (color to preference)
– small paint brush
– clear coat spray paint

First, sand you board. I sanded my edges so they were rounded. It gave it a nice finished look I think! Next stain the entire board. Then, I measured where I wanted my lines to be and taped off the entire board leaving the lines exposed. I then painted the lines with with white spray paint and removed the painters tape.

While the board was drying, I painted the rocks. I have small river rock in my flower beds so I just took a few from there. If you don’t have any, they sell them in the faux floral section at Walmart and even the dollar store! I made sure mine were washed and dried, then used some left over latex paint to paint on the X’s and O’s.

Once they were dry, I coated the rocks and the board in clear spay paint.

My rock dish is not attached. You could easily attach it to the board with epoxy or glue to make sure it is secure if you wanted.

Kari | Rad + the Rest

I'm Kari. Saw wielding, usually covered in paint, wife of a hard-working, bearded ginger and mother of 4 (2 human, 2 canine). I’m impulsive. I’m messy. I’m unorganized and I’m horrible with time management. But… I’m creative. That’s my excuse. I have a deep-seated need to create things. I always have. Also, I like to party.
