For our Family Night treat this week I felt like making something fun, easy and in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. This is what I came up with! These Strawberry Shortcake Kabobs were a hit! And the Vanilla Mousse Dipping Sauce made these like 10x better! They’re for sure worth a try!
It was super easy to make them and my family loved them!
STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE KABOBS
First, I washed my strawberries, cut the tops off, and let them dry completely.
I melted some chocolate and dipped half of the strawberry into the chocolate. I then let them dry on the wax paper. I didn’t want to dip the whole thing because I wanted to push the kabob stick through the strawberry and didn’t want the stick to push the chocolate off of it.
I also baked my favorite Cream Cheese Pound Cake and allowed it to cool.
I cut the pound cake into squares and then put them on the sticks alternating between the strawberries and cake.
I felt like the cake might be dry to just eat plain, so I made a vanilla mousse to dip them in. To make the mousse I made vanilla pudding and then mixed in whipped cream to make it light and fluffy. I gave everyone a couple of skewers and a little bowl of dipping sauce.
Yummy and fun is a great combination! Hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day tomorrow!
