I could not find the source for this picture but I love the idea of not just doing the grade but adding what they want to be when they grow up.
I love the beach. It has always been one of my favorite places to go and to be. When I was in college I started collecting sand from some of the more memorial beaches we have been to.
They have become one of my favorite treasures and decor. They are not expensive to create either. When on vacation I collect sand in a Ziploc bag. Then when we get home I hunt at thrift stores or Jo-ann’s for the perfect bottle.
To mark the bottles I just type out the name of the place, pick a font that I feel portrays the feel of the place, and print it on natural colored paper. Then I rip the tag to the perfect size. I use an eyelet punch to create a place to loop my string through and to tie it on.
On some of the jars I even used a little wire and some beads to display the tag. This was my first jar and is still one of my favorites because it was the last trip I took with my Mom as a single woman before I got married and it was such a blast!
I try to come up with different natural strings to tie the tags on and I try to tie them all in a different way. My kids love to look at them and get so excited when we go to a new place and can collect sand to bring home.
I really wanted an old bottle to go with our collection and how cool is it that my husband found one the Philippines and actually dove down to get it for us! It was perfect for our collection.
So the next time you are on vacation and trying to figure out what to bring home think about starting your own collection of fun sand bottles!
Today I am sharing how to cook pumpkin seeds, along with 4 fun flavors! My husband LOVES Pumpkin Seeds and Pine Nuts in the fall, so I was pretty much forced to learn tons of ways to make them! We started dating at the beginning of a Fall and it’s seriously one of my main memories – him eating Pumpkin Seeds and Pine Nuts! And now our whole family loves them!
We love our advent calendar. Last year each night after dinner we had a Christmas joke and a little treat. This year I wanted to make it a little more spiritual. I really want to bring Christ to the center this year. We always read the Christmas story on Christmas Eve but I wanted to read a portion of it each day. I combined the accounts from Matthew, Luke, and Isaiah to make one continues account. I broke the scriptures up in a way that can lead to a good discussion on each part of the story. Here is a sample of what each day looks like:
They are on 11 different pages and they just have to be cut apart after they are printed.
I folded them up and put them inside each little door.
On a few of the days I even included a little treat.
You can download them for free for personal use!
I am so excited for the spirit this is going to bring into our home this Christmas season!
I hope you enjoy them too!

Here are a few other things that I already do, my friends do or sisters do:

– Do a countdown the week leading up to their birthday!
– Pick up your Bday child from school and take them out to a fun lunch!
– The morning of their birthday, wake up them up and take them out to breakfast in their jammies!
– Make your childs Bday cake! My sister and one of my best friends does this and their kids LOVE being apart of the process!
– Have a birthday stocking (or present) that they get to open first thing in the morning!
Hope you get some fun ideas to help make your loved ones Birthday’s a little more fun!

Someone lost their very first tooth in our house! He seriously cant stop smiling.
I remember putting my teeth in the little pocket and going to sleep with so much anticipation. It was no different with Caleb! The Tooth Fairy always brings a cool toothbrush and money to our house. Lucky for Caleb on his first tooth she gave him a little bonus. He was so excited to finally have a $2 bill of his own! They all thought it was cool that the Tooth Fairy took time to write a note.
