This subtle little handmade chipboard sign can be added to your home decor year round or pull out for the 4th of July! Plus I show you some fun Cricut tips.
This was my first ever Cricut Maker project and even though I did make a couple of mistakes, it was actually super simple!
What You Need for Your USA Handmade Chipboard Sign
- Cricut Maker
- Cricut Knife Blade
- Chipboard
- Stone Spray Paint
- Chalk Spray Paint
- Strong Adhesive Glue Tape
Start by installing your knife blade. This is extremely simple and they walk you through each step.
Next you will pull out your chipboard. Allow it to sit for at least 24 hours out of the packaging to acclimatize to your climate.
See how those white stoppers are not pushed to the side on the metal bar? Don’t make this mistake!! It put lines through my whole square of chipboard because I didn’t fully follow the instructions. You will then put your chipboard on a strong grip mat and secure it with tape. I used scotch tape but masking tape would be much better!
I loved the way this turned out! It’s a neutral way to get some American pride into your home without trying to incorporate red, white or blue. (Something I have a hard time doing for some reason.)
