Learn how to turn free chalkboard printables into DIY Printable Christmas Ornaments or Gift Tags! This simple DIY is super affordable and easy only using printables, cardstock, a glue stick, and some raffia!
Start by going through the list of Christmas printables at the end of this post and choose the ones you like! You'll go to each post and download the free printables. Or feel free to find some on your own! Then take them into a photo or design program you have on your computer and resize them to 5x7's. If you don't have software you are familiar with, feel free to use something as simple as canva.com to resize them.
Next, grab your Christmas cardstock! You'll use gluestick or scrapbook stickies to adhere the chalkboard printables to the cute Christmas cardstock! I like to leave a ½" border of the cardstock showing around all 4 edges of the printable!
Use scissors or a paper cutter to cut around printables and cardstock. Again, make sure a leave a decent border! Anywhere from ¼"-¾". Then I inked around the edge of the Christmas Paper with the distress ink!
Next, use a hole puncher to punch a hole in the center of the top of your ornament. I like to punch about ¼" below the top of the ornament/gift tag.
Finish them off by threading raffia through the hole to make a bow and a loop to hang them with. I cut a piece about a foot and a half long. Then I folded it in half and pushed the folded end through the hole to make a loop on the back end. I then took the separated ends and tied them in a bow on the front of the ornament/gift tag.
