These Easy Meatball Sandwiches are a quick and easy lunch or dinner idea! Don't worry though, they're super filling and will have your tastebuds beyond happy! Make them with fresh or frozen meatballs and top them with your favorite toppings like cheese, onions, and peppers!
Combine the frozen meatballs, spaghetti sauce, and seasoning in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 4 hours. If cooking on the stovetop, combine all the ingredients and cook on medium-high heat covered for 10-12 minutes, stirring a few times.
Next, clean and cut your onion and peppers. Saute them on the stovetop on medium-high heat for about 8-10 minutes. I generally only cook them until they're about 80% done because they finish cooking in the oven.
Once the meatballs have warmed all the way through, fill your hoagie buns with the meatballs and a little sauce. If the center of your meatballs aren't 100% heated through, don't stress. You're going to finish the sandwiches off in the oven.
Place the "stuffed" sandwiches in a 9x13 pan, so they stand up easily and allow you to add toppings.
Next, customize your sandwiches by putting cheese, onions, and/or peppers on top of your meatball sandwiches.
Cook in the oven for approx 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted. ENJOY!
Notes
** How many meatballs you need is dependent on the size of the meatball you buy, as well as the size of the hoagie bun you're using. If using normal-sized meatballs, you can fit 4 on a standard size hoagie bun, but I've also used larger meatballs that only fit 3 meatballs on the sandwich bun. So, take the size of your meatball and hoagie bun into consideration when you're choosing how many meatballs to cook.
