Baked French Toast Sticks
Take french toast to the next level and turn it into sticks! The kids love it!
- 8 slices bread preferably a thicker bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp butter melted
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Take a 9x13 baking pan and either grease it or line it with parchment paper. I prefer to just grease mine.
In a mixing bowl combine and whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla and salt.
Next, take the sugar and cinnamon and mix them up in a small bowl. You could also just use a cinnamon and sugar shaker if you have that!
Take your bread and cut it into 3 pieces each.
Dip each portion into egg mixture then allow the extra egg mixture to run off the stick and transfer to the baking sheet. They don't need a lot of space between them, so feel free to really pack the baking sheet full of them.
Baste the top of the the sticks with the melted butter and then sprinkle the tops with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Baked for 13-15 minutes then take them out and turn them over.
Baste the tops with the melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Bake for another 13-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Take out and allow to cool for a few minutes and serve with maple syrup!
