I love myself a good Christmas party and this year my plan was to have an Ugly Sweater Party. Unfortunately, life got the best of me and the month has just flown by too fast and I realized it just wasn’t going to happen. Then the other day I was at Walmart buying some treats for a movie night this week and I saw that Hershey’s Kisses Chocolates came out with some adorable Hershey’s Kisses Kissmas Sweater Chocolates and I realized my dreams didn’t have to die! I would just have my family attend my party! hehe! Hence the birth of our first Annual Family Ugly Sweater Party!
I decided the night before to make a cute little invitation! It’s super simple, because I didn’t really need to disclose a location or anything. After I designed them I printed them, inked the edges, and attached some of the Hershey’s Kisses Kissmas Sweater Chocolates to them. The next morning, before the kids got up, I put the invites on their night stands!
I’ve got the invitation available for download below! I’ve got 2 versions – one for your very first year and then one that can be used for the following years. They look just like the invite above, except the middle section is blank, so that you can customize it! This can easily be done on sites like gimp.com!

They were pretty stoked when they saw the invites as they woke up! They even begged to wear their Ugly Sweaters to school that day!
When the kids got home from school, they just wanted to jump right into the fun. It was early-out day, so I figured why not! No need to wait til 6 pm! A few days prior, my Jeffrey had requested to make some Christmas cards for his cousins that live a few hours away! So, I put together a card making table and that was our first activity!
No need to get crazy and fancy with the craft supplies! I just put out different colors of cardstock, markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, tape, scissors and OF COURSE treats like Hershey’s Kisses Chocolates!
Earlier in the day I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut out little sweaters, Christmas trees and circles that they could use to decorate their own ugly sweaters for the Christmas cards! They loved the idea and were so excited to put them together! If you have a Cricut Explore machine, you can access the file HERE!
The kids absolutely loved it and we got a bunch of cards done and sent off to cousins! Checked that off my holiday to-do list! BOOM! Plus, Dylan was napping, so it was fun doing this activity with just my boys!
We got a little jump start on the movie night too! We just watched a short one, before dad got home! And, what’s a movie without chocolate and popcorn?
How adorable are the Hershey’s Kisses Kissmas Sweater Chocolates? The Hershey Company sure knows how to step up their game and make their adorable chocolate even more fun and festive! Remember, they’re sold exclusively at Walmart! They’re perfect for your upcoming parties (Ugly Sweater party wink wink), for gifts or even to just have in a cute dish at your house! Be sure and Celebrate with Hershey’s this Holiday season!
We finished the night with some pizza for dinner and another movie with dad!
The party ended up being perfect! I had nothing else planned for my day, which is rare! I loved being able to just enjoy the afternoon and evening with my kiddos! And, I was actually surprised how much the kids loved it all! I am so excited to make this an annual tradition! I know that next year all 5 of us will be looking forward to it again!
And for fun, I’ll end the post with a fun pictures of the me and the loves of my life! Enjoy!
