A simple and easy cover for your Cricut cutting machine to help protect it from dust!

I opted to use the prepackaged fabric that Cricut sells that comes in 12″x26″ pieces. If you are using fabric you already have, you only need about ½ a yard for this simple project.

It is really simple easy to create this cover for your Cricut machine and you don't need many materials to complete the project!

What you Need for your Cricut Maker Cover

  • Fabric
    • 1 – 24″x7.5″ piece
    • 2 – 7.5″ x 7.5″ pieces
    • 2 – 24″ x 7.5″ pieces
  • Serger/sewing machine (If you’re in the market for a sewing machine I put together this little comparison for you here!)
  • Cricut Maker or other Cricut Machine
  • Rotary cutter
  • Cutting Mat

First, I started by cutting my fabric. You will need 1 24″x7.5″ piece, 2 7.5″x7.5″ and 2 24″x7.5″ pieces. I mixed up the colors for a little bit of fun or you can just use one piece for the entire project.

Next, you will sew your 24″x7.5″ to one of the 24″ sides of the 24″x7.5″ piece. Make sure you keep the right sides together! Do the same with the other 24″x7.5″ piece.

Next, you will sew the 7.5″x7.5″ pieces to the 7.5″ side of the 24″x7.5″ piece.

Then you will sew together the 7.5″ sides to each other to complete the cube.

After I did this I also decided to serge the bottom of the cover for a cleaner look. If you don’t have a serger you can always just iron it up ¼″ and sew a straight stitch.

That is it! Can you believe how simple that is?! If you wanted to make it more detailed and ornate you totally could, but I personally loved the simplicity of this design.

You can see a little sneak peak in the back there of the cover I made for my Cricut EasyPress as well! Stay tuned and follow along with my Instagram to see that tutorial.

I haven’t made this yet but THANKS for the easy directions. I am an experienced sewer and totally messed up the one on the Cricut website. I picked up a yard of canvas fabric today for $3 at Michael’s and I will it it for this!

Thank you so much for these easy directions. I looked at many sites before yours and was so relieved that I come across yours. I’m no sewer but my cover turned out great. Thanks again.

I just finished sewing this and all the long pieces are the same size. This was very easy and I really enjoyed making this. I don’t even own a Cricut. I made it for a friend of mine.
