DIY Hanging Gutter Planter - such a fun, easy and inexpensive project that even a beginner can make! | www.overthebigmoon.com
Happy Monday friends! I am so excited to share this fun project from Home Depot’s #dihworkshop for the month of April – a DIY Hanging Gutter Planter!! It literally changed the whole look and feel of my front porch and I couldn’t be happier! My porch was already one of my favorite spots in my house, but this whole last week I just kept going out there and smiling at my new little project!

So, here is the version of the DIY Gutter Planter that Home Depot will be teaching at their #dihworkshop throughout the month of April and what was given to us to help inspire our own customized version of this project!

If you want to be a part of a DIH Workshop near you this month and make your own Hanging Gutter Planter, then click the link below, put in your zip code and see when and where it’s being offered! Some locations offer you to make it on site, but some just walk you through how to make it and offer you to purchase a kit to go home and make it!

When I started thinking how I wanted this project to work for me I knew immediately I wanted to have it help give me a little privacy! We live in a neighborhood where our houses are far closer than we’d like! We do have a great porch though and I realized I could have this project help close off the porch a little from our neighbors!

It turned out so great and I know once all the plants grow more and fill in the empty space it’s even going to be better!

Question: How did you secure the rope to the gutter? Keeping it secure, especially with the weight of the soil & plants? Is there a drainage system or just dependent on natural evaporation?

    Pam,

You did a great job on your planter! The color of the gutters looks great, and I love that you did greenery and not flowers.
