I finally have my kitchen all back together!

I started with paint. Our cupboards were too close to the shade of the cabinets and I felt like they got lost. I would have liked to go a little lighter and a little more gray for the paint color…but I settled for a happier hubby instead! We used the color Blue Arrow by Valspar. If you look at the paint chip don’t be deceived. It almost looks greenish on the card! Paint makes such a huge difference. Its a lot of work but where else can you make such a big impact for only $25!

Five years ago I looked at hardware for our cabinets and it was so expensive! This time I was able to find some awesome hardware for super cheap!

I  was able to do the whole kitchen for $51! I was a little nervous about the quality but it was awesome – nice and heavy! The only thing that I have to complain about was that the screws for the drawer pulls were not long enough so we had to go buy a box of new screws for about $3. It added a lot of depth to the cabinets and gave the home more of a custom feel.

I also changed things up on top of the cabinets a little bit. I tried to use warm accent colors since the walls are a cooler tone.

I also made a new Market sign for above our pantry, with Lori’s help and some scrap wood!

I also made a new laundry sign for above the door to the laundry room and changed up what was on my pot rack.

Total expense:

Paint – $25

Hardware – $51 + $3

Accessories- $18

Total cost – $97

Its so fun to have things changed and freshened up!

I used the same color of paint (Valspar Blue Arrow) with my oak cabinets in the kitchen as well. Funny that it’s now 2023 color of the year! Mine doesn’t look near as green/grayish as yours. I also painted my bedroom Oyster Bay and Sea Salt which also came thru very blue as opposed to the green/gray.

I love the color too! Such a dilemma regarding oak cupboards. Everything is cylindrical. I’m going to work on updating with paint, fixture, sink and counter top. 😁 Thanks for sharing your kitchen!

What a difference the new color of the walls made. I really like it. Did you change the color of the cabinets, or is it just the color of the walls that make them look lighter? You did a really nice job.

I wanted to know where you got your sink taps and what style they are. My kitchen cabinets are almost the same and I have the same counter top.

Very nice! Also, thanks so much for the hardware links. I would have never thought of Amazon as a hardware supply company, but that might come in handy when I refinish my cupboards.
