December is here and I’m so excited to have a month full of traditions and fun with my family! I have had a particularly crazy November, so I am really trying to prep everything early so I just play as much as possible in December! One of my kids favorite things is to make our Magic Reindeer Food Recipe to set next to Santa’s Cookies for him to give to his reindeer!
This recipe is so easy to throw together! My kids can basically make it themselves!
The recipe is for one bag small cello bag, but you could easily adjust the recipe to work for whatever bag you are going to use! If I’m gifting it then, I’ll sometimes split it into 2 bags and have less in each bag!
MAGIC REINDEER FOOD
Ingredients:
- ½ cup Instant Oats
- ⅓ cup Sugar
- ½ cup Sugar Crystals (I usually like to do ¼ cup of 2 colors)
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl or large ziplock and mix it! Pour it into a 4.5″ x 6.5″ clear cello bag (or whatever you have on hand or want)!
Prepare Bag Topper
For Cricut users: Click HERE for the Cricut Design Space file to create the bag topper using your Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker. I used green cardstock, brown cardstock, the scoring tool and a black pen to create this bag topper. Follow the directions to make the cuts, score lines and drawing lines.
If you want to customize the file at all, you will need to unattached the writing and score line from the background. Then after you make the changes, re-attach the writing and scoring line to the card layer.
Assemble by using a dot or two of hot glue or a glue stick.
Printable Topper: Click the below link to download and print the bag topper. Cut out the bag topper, fold on the line.
Once your bag topper is prepared then fold the bag topper over the top of the bag and staple it into place!
And that’s it! You’re done!
This makes a super fun gift for neighbors or your kids friends or classmates! One year we made these and gave them to my sons preschool class during their Christmas party and they loved taking them home for Santa’s reindeer!
