I love wreath hangers and not having a big nail in my door. But I don’t like the look of the hook showing….I’m a little OCD about stuff like that! I decided it was time to finally do something about it!
I found some natural twine in our shed and grabbed my glue gun.
I didn’t want to make the twine permanent in case I wanted to switch the wrapping up later, so I used just a little glue on the under side of the hanger to secure the twine to the hanger. I also didn’t want to make it hard for the door to close so I only wrapped the part that hangs down the door, not the top.
Then I started wrapping. I didn’t glue it at all while wrapping it down.
I wrapped it until the end of the hook. Then I used hot glue to secure the last bit over the top, and then a little more glue to secure the end down.
I love it!
No more distracting black hanger!
Apparently the birds like the natural look and feel of it too since a couple days after I took these pictures I found this:

Wow that is such an improvement. Good thing you thought of it. Now we’ll all have to get our wreath hanger out to snazzy up. If I can find it that is. Think it’d be easier to go buy another one. Love your cheery forsythia wreath also. Thanks for sharing.

That is a great solution! You could sell those I am sure, thanks for sharing the idea. I’ll plan on trying it on my front door.

Looks gorgeous. The twine made such a huge difference. I must say I am inspired.

So pretty! Now I want to re-do mine! If I can find it.
I bought a cheap clear one to my wreath. But I could still do that one as well. Thanks for sharing!
