Redbox Neighbor Gift Idea

redox-printable-tag

Happy Friday friends!  Today I am sharing our Redbox Neighbor Gift idea with you all!  We are both LOVING this idea, because it’s so simple, easy and EVERYONE will love it and use it!  We are offering 3 different designs/sizes, so you should have no problem finding one that you like!

What you need:

Printable Gift Tags (printable below)
Cardstock
Redbox Promo Codes (link to purchase below)
Microwave Popcorn Packages

After you have the Gift Tags all printed and signed then you just need to write in your Promo Codes!  Here is how you go about obtaining them!

Redbox allows you to purchase them on their website in bundles of 5, 10, 20 or 50 under their Redbox Gifts section (link at the bottom of the page).  You order them online and they are emailed. So, you just enter your own email address in the recipient space and you’ll receive an email with all the codes listed!

Here is a sample of the email you will receive!

confirmation

After you get all your gift tags completed, then just attach them to a package of microwave popcorn!  If you purchase the microwave popcorn in bulk, then you can get them for about $.50 each (or less).  So, the total cost for the gift, including the printing of the Gift Tag would still be under $2.00!!

If you have some people on your street that you don’t really know, but want to be a good neighbor, I think it would still be fun to just attach the Gift Tag to your families Christmas Card!

If you want to make the gift a little nicer, then you could also include a 2-Liter Soda, a bag of candy and even some popcorn containers!  The options are endless!

Now, get going, by downloading your Redbox Neighbor Gift Tags below!

  • camille@ mymommystyle

    brilliant!

  • oh so smart I love this

  • Misty

Can anyone use the codes or do they need to input information/have an account with RedBox?

  • tara

Mine just has a flat amount with a pin number. How can I get individual codes?

    • Ashlee

Mine did the same thing…I was trying to see if there was anything I could do?

      • Ashlee

So…you probably did what I did and bought the gift card and not the promo codes. Those are down farther on the same page as the promo codes. I called redbox and they gave me a refund for the card and now I will purchase the CODES instead 🙂

    • Sorry about that confusion Tara! Hopefully Redbox was able to give you a refund like Ashlee, so you could purchase the codes!

  • brittney

On the santa face one it docent print the “Redbox code:” IT just prints all of these weird symbols instead. What do I need to do to fix it?

    • Laurie N.

      me too!! 🙁

  • Jacquie

Thank you for the great idea!!! Perfect gift for coworkers! 🙂

  • Sarah

Any chance you could post the Santa printable without the Redbox code so I could attach a movie gift card?

  • Julie

Not able to print the tags. 🙁

    • Julie – what’s the problem? I haven’t had any other complaints and I just checked all the downloads and they’re working. Email me at pam@overthebigmoon.com and let’s see if we can get it worked out for you.

  • Alika

what if you give someone the promo code and they keep the dvd for like 3 days, does it charge your card, or do they enter their card info with the promo code when they redeem it?

    • Billie

When the recipient uses the code, Redbox will require that they use their credit card. The won’t be charge for the first night (the code they’ve been gifted), but if they keep it longer it charges their credit card.

  • Jen

When I print the Santa card, instead of saying “Redbox Code” it prints!”#$%&'(%#”) (it literally has all those symbols!) Any ideas??

    • TLP

I had the same thing happen, Jen! Hope there is a solution to a printing fix, as I LOVE the Santa one!

      • The download is working normal for me – and I tested it on a few computers. What’s your email and I’ll send the PDF to you through email and we’ll see if that works! Sorry about that! Not sure what is going on!

      • Jenn

I clicked on the tags, then right clicked and copied them into a word document where I could make them bigger and had no problems printing them that way – I did the bluish ones.

    • Janet

I had the same thing happen. And I love the santa too!

  • m

Redbox is raising their prices in 2015- so if i give a code, will there be a difference that needs to be paid if they redeem it after the new year?

    • Billie

Prices increased on Dec. 2- the codes that I have seen for the Promo codes are already a $1.50.

  • Kas

I can’t find where I can buy individual codes… all I see is gift cards $10+. I just need a couple codes for teacher’s gifts. Any idea how I can get those?

    • You purchase them at this link: https://premium.vcdelivery.com/redbox/?cid=lp:link:gifts:12:18:2013

You choose how many you would like to buy with the drop down menu and it send the codes to you via an email! Then you can handwrite them on the printables! Good luck!

    • Jenn

We did them for teachers also. I just clicked on her link in the pin (where on their website is highlighted) and it went to it. I couldn’t find it just going straight to the site either. They came to my e-mail right away after purchase.

  • Tiffany Bush

This is such a fantastic idea, and the printables are adorable. Thanks for sharing!

  • Susanna

These are fantastic. Any suggestions for them to say Happy Holidays? Thank you for sharing.

  • Kelli

Thank you for such a wonderful idea!! I gave them to all my kids teachers 🙂

  • Kimberly

Pam, What a wonderful idea and it is so kind of you to share with all of us! I am having trouble downloading. Would you mind emailing the PDFs to me? klabu92@me.com

  • Anne Marie

I am having trouble with my order on Redbox going through. It says there is not enough inventory to fulfill the order…just wondering if anyone else is having this same issue!

    • Wendy Cline

      I’m having the same issue.

      • Brittany

I just got off the phone with Redbox and they said to try later today. I hope it works, I’m banking on this for some last minute teacher gifts!

    • Julie

      I’m having the same issue….

    • Anon

      Same issue here, as well.

    • Kristen

this happened to me too… any idea why? I was so excited to find this gift idea! :/

  • Kristen

After submitting my order on redbox it says “not enough inventory to complete order”! boo 🙁

    • kristen

for those with the same issue… I just called them and he said to wait 3 hours and try again.

  • Growing Up Gabel

This is seriously THE BEST IDEA EVER! Perfect for teachers, too! Thanks for the idea!

  • Jen

Anyone else still having problems with redbox? If I keep trying and it says failure will it keep charging my cc?

  • KTS

Having same issue with inventory error message. Customer service said website issue, their IT dept. is still working on it, should check back in a few hours.

  • NMD

Thank you for an awesome idea!!! Bravo.

  • Felina

I’m planning on doing this for children in our family who have so many toys– I figure this is a great gift that will not create a lot of clutter.

  • Rachael

Thank you so much, using these for gifts for all the music, art, PE teachers at my kids’ school. Wanted to give them some kind of gift but couldn’t spend a lot on all of them. This is perfect! I very much appreciate the idea and your card design share!

    • I’m so glad Rachael! Merry Christmas!

  • Rachael

Oh, and anyone having trouble printing the tags…try actually saving the file to your computer then printing. Sometimes my printer does weird things when I try to print PDFs directly from a browser, but they print fine if I save them to my computer.

  • Sunshine

    Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Tiffany

Thank you sooooo much!! This was perfect! Download/printable was very easy!!

    • I’m so glad Tiffany! Merry Christmas!

  • Amanda M

I’m having issue getting the file to open, can someone help please. Such a great idea. Thank you

  • Mom2three

I was so excited when I saw this gift idea but I just went to Redbox and ordered a $15 card and only received ONE code… Can’t really split that up between people so now I’m stuck with $15 at Redbox and no gifts for the teachers. 🙁

    • So sorry! You must have ordered a gift card, not the codes. I’ve heard from another reader that did this that they emailed redox and they refunded them the money, which allowed them to order the codes vs the gift card.

      Good luck!

    • Mom2three

My mistake… I didn’t realize there were different types of cards. Be careful when you purchase. On their gift card page there’s a large red button that says, “Buy a Redbox Card”. Don’t click on this one! It only gives you one code. You need to scroll down the page to find a white button that says, “Promo Code Bundles”. Thank you for the wonderful gift idea!

      • Marchmama

Thank you for this tip! My husband and I were engaging in an almost argument about this because he didn’t think we could get more than one code. Thanks to your trial and error we are less frustrated AND we get to give cute gifts!

  • Alicialm

Thanks for this post. Great idea!

  • Karen

Where does one find the PDFs? All I get when I click the images are little jpeg files which will be awfully blurry when enlarged. 🙁

    • Karen

      Never mind; figured it out.

    • There are download links available for all 3 designs within the post. You are welcome to email me at pam@overthebigmoon.com with the design you’d prefer and I’d also be happy to email it to you! Merry Christmas!

  • Mrs. J

I love this idea. There are 10 of us who teach the same grade level at my school. This is a fun, inexpensive way to give! Thanks for the idea.

  • carly

Thanks for sharing!! My neighbors will love opening their mailboxes tomorrow!

  • Kerry

This is awesome. My husband loved this idea.

  • Christina

Just made these for my son’s teachers and therapists… such a lovely idea! Thank you for the printables!

  • Stephanie

Do they send this e-mail separate from the order receipt? I got the order receipt but no codes? Does it take a while for the codes email to come through?

    • Stephanie

Nevermind! I found it! It came through to my promotions inbox instead of my regular inbox like the receipt. Thanks for the great idea!

  • Danielle

LOVE this!!! Giving this to the kids’ swim coaches! Thank you!!

  • Natalie

    Fantastic Idea! LOVE!

  • Mel

What a perfect gift idea! Thank you for sharing!

  • Jj

Love this!!! Can you make some for Valentines day too? You are so creative!

    • Coming this weekend! 😉 Stay tuned!

  • Emily

Your awesome idea totally saved me this year! Thank you so very much!! I love it! I had a rather hectic early December and didn’t have time to think about neighbor gifts. My sister-in-law gave me one of these, and we copied the idea and had neighbor gifts out the next day! Yay! So . . . THANKS! By the way, the tag files aren’t working anymore . . . a few of my neighbors were out of town for the holidays, and so I didn’t get their gift to them yet. I just went to print some more and I can’t access the file. Was it just up for the holidays??

    • Emily

I don’t know if you fixed it or it was a problem with my computer, but I can access it now! If you did something . . . THANKS!!

    • Sorry about the trouble Emily. Our downloads were down for a few days, while we were redoing our download manager system. It is back up now!

  • Teri

Thanks Pam, I am a new Community manager and was going nuts trying to think of something to do for this my resident’s this month. Doing my own tag with a bag of popcorn for “National Popcorn Day” on the 19th!

  • Marissa

When I went to the redbox website you can only send it via email not by a promo code….please help!!!

This gift idea is spectacular! Is this a code to redeem a movie online? If someone can use it at a redbox location, does anyone know if that person turns it in late, will I or that person get charged the late fee?

    • Xenia – you can redeem the code online or at the redbox location. They still have to slide their card to cover any late fees. Thanks so much for the nice comment!
