For my husband’s birthday this year, I thought it would be fun to put together a fun Cheers and Beers Party with a few friends! I love playing on the theme of Cheers and Beers, because you can adapt it so easy to whatever food you want to serve!
Naturally, I jumped into Cricut Design Space and got designing some fun decorations and accessories for the party too! When you’re planning any kind of Cheers and Beers party, the first thing to decide is what food you want to serve with the beer!
Food ideas to serve at a Cheers and Beers Party
One of the reasons I love the theme Cheers and Beers is because it’s such a diverse theme. You can really take it any direction you want! The only requirement is that the food needs to pair with beer!
If you’re needing to serve a full meal, I love the idea of one of these 5 themes:
- Taco Bar
- Nachos
- Sliders
- Wings w/ Dipping Sauces
- Hot Dog Bar
If you’re needing snack food ideas, here are some fun ideas:
- Chips
- Nuts
- Popcorn
- Pretzel Sticks
- Soft Pretzels w/ cheese sauce
- Candy
TACO AND BEER PARTY
As you can see from the pictures I’ve shared, we settled on a Taco and Beer Party! I chose to have already formed tacos out vs go with a toppings bar. Then I served Beans, Rice, Chips, Salsa, Guacamole and of course BEER! Lots of different kinds of Beer! If you have guests that don’t love beer, then I suggest also having a Margarita Bar!
CHEERS AND BEERS PARTY DECOR IDEAS
Now let’s move onto the different items I created to customize the food table! I made some super fun Menu Signs for the Beer and Tacos. I also always love to customize disposable napkins by adding some Iron On onto them! Then I added vinyl stickers to the bottom of the taco trays!! I also decided last minute to throw some shirts together for the guys!!
If you’re serving table is up against a wall, I highly suggest also making a bunting! I love the idea of incorporating these little Mexican hats to a bunting! I also loved the added touch of putting the Mexican Runner down on the bar, with a couple bowls of pretzels!
CRICUT ITEMS NEEDED/USED:
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- EasyPress 2 – 9×9 (I used this for the TShirt)
- EasyPress Mini (I used this for the napkins)
- Permanent Premium Vinyl (I used white)
- Removable Premium Vinyl (I used Navy Blue)
- Iron-On (HTV)
- Standard Green Mat (I used both a 12×12 and 12×24)
- Weeding Tool
- Transfer Tape
- EasyPress Mat
TACO AND BEER MENU SIGNS
The very first thing that I knew I wanted to make was menu boards for the Taco and Beer! It’s always good to add some elements to party tables that have a little height, plus they serve a purpose!
Open: TACO AND BEER MENU’S DESIGN SPACE FILE
Resize the files to whatever size you need them for your board and amend the menu to what your’e serving! Set your machine in the top right hand corner and then hit ‘MAKE IT’!
Review the cutting file and adjust the material size to what cutting mat’s you’ll be using. Once it’s ready to cut, hit Continue in the bottom right hand corner.
Set your material and confirm that you have the right blade loaded in your machine. Apply the Iron-ON to your cutting mat and load it in the machine! Press the ‘C’ on your machine once it’s flashing!
After your designs are cut, then go ahead and weed the excess vinyl from around your design.
Once everything is weeded, then apply Transfer Tape to your designs. Use your fingers or a scraping tool to make sure your vinyl design is adhered to the transfer tape well. When you’re ready to apply the design, remove the paper backing paper and place your design. I chose to apply the design in two parts — first the words and second the images.
I am so so happy with how the menus turned out! Don’t you think they’re fun?
DIY TACO and BEER SHIRT
Naturally you need a shirt to wear to your party, right? I love a simple design, so I went with the basic taco and beer love story for the short design! haha! And what’s a Taco and Beer party without a Beer Pong table? We got this one here and have loved having it! It folds up small and stores easily!
To make it, open:
Taco + Beer Design Space File
When making the t-shirts, you’re going to use Iron-On (HTV) in whatever color works with the t-shirt you bought! To make the shirt, use the same step-by-step instructions as I explained for the Taco and Beer Menu Signs. The only difference is that you need to set set your material as Iron-On and then you’ll use an EasyPress 2 – 9×9 (or whatever you have) to apply the Iron On onto the t-shirt! Make sure and use the Cricut EasyPress Heat Guide to determine the heat and time need for your shirt material!
CHEERS AND BEERS NAPKINS
One of my favorite things to customize for parties are the napkins! You can buy super affordable, disposable napkins and add an Iron On Design to them! I created a basic Design Space File that has a cute Cheers and Beers design and also the word Taco. Feel free to use these designs to customize anything for your party!
Cheers and Beers Design for Accessories Design Space File
When making the napkins, I used Iron-On (HTV) in Black! To make them, use the same step-by-step instructions as I explained for the Taco and Beer Menu Signs. The only difference is that you need to set set your material as Iron-On and then you’ll use an EasyPress Mini (or whatever you have) to apply the Iron On onto the napkin! Make sure and use the Cricut EasyPress Heat Guide to determine the heat and time! I did these designs on the LOW setting on my EasyPress Mini for 30 seconds with a Cold Peel.
CUSTOMIZED TACO TRAYS
I ended up ordering these brown food trays to serve the tacos in! To theme them I wanted to add a little vinyl in the tray! I used the same Design Space file that I used for the napkins, but sized them to fit in the trays!
Cheers and Beers Design for Accessories Design Space File
When making the taco trays, I used Removable Premium Vinyl in Navy Blue! To make them, use the same step-by-step instructions as I explained for the Taco and Beer Menu Signs. But, set your material to Removable Premium Vinyl and DO NOT mirror your design.
After you cut the vinyl, using your Weeding Tool to weed the excess vinyl from around the design and apply Transfer Tape over the vinyl words. Use your fingers to make sure the design is adhered to the transfer tape good and apply the words to the brown serving trays!
All and all I am so happy with how the whole setup looked! It was a super easy theme to throw together and everyone had a blast! What do you think? Are you ready to throw a Cheers and Beers party soon?
