advent 8

We love our advent calendar. Last year each night after dinner we had a Christmas joke and a little treat. This year I wanted to make it a little more spiritual. I really want to bring Christ to the center this year. We always read the Christmas story on Christmas Eve but I wanted to read a portion of it each day. I combined the accounts from Matthew, Luke, and Isaiah to make one continues account. I broke the scriptures up in a way that can lead to a good discussion on each part of the story. Here is a sample of what each day looks like:

3 4

14 15 16

17 18 19

22 23 24

They are on 11 different pages and they just have to be cut apart after they are printed.

advent 1

I folded them up and put them inside each little door.

advent 4

On a few of the days I even included a little treat.

advent 7

You can download them for free for personal use!

I am so excited for the spirit this is going to bring into our home this Christmas season!

I hope you enjoy them too!

Never mind. It just printed! Thank you so much for this! It’s exactly what I was looking for! My family reads a Christmas Scripture before we eat a piece of chocolate from our Advent Calendar. This will be perfect so we aren’t scrambling that night.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I thought I’d just take a peek to see if I could find some generous soul who has already done the foot work on this idea before I did it myself…and to what did my wondering eyes appear? Thanks again, my daughters will love this new tradition!

Where did you get your actual calendar display? Love it! Thanks for the scriptures. I plan to do advent for the first time with my kids and wanted to make it bible focused. I’m planning to add a figure each day to our nativity set as we go through the story.

What a great idea! I would love to add this to our advent calendar! I’m doing little activities with my kids, but my oldest is 2 so this would be great to do with my husband. Pinning!
