bdaytraditions

BIRTHDAYS!  Birthdays are so much fun!  Now that my boys are getting older and really understanding what a Birthday is all about I decided that this year I wanted to start some little extra traditions to do on their Birthday.  For the most part – all the ideas I’m going to share aren’t too much work, but will make your little ones feel extra special!  I’m not going to be using all of these, but for sure some of them!  Enjoy and I hope you can find a few traditions you want to incorporate into your families Birthday traditions!

I love this idea of the EXTRA Special Bday Balloons!  Put money in special balloons that your Bday child gets to pop to get!  Even just something as simple as $1 a balloon up to the age they are turning!  Thanks Increasingly Domestic for this idea!

Lisa family has the cutest Birthday plate that the Bday child gets to use the whole day! They also have a chair cover that goes on their chair and a matching pin!  I am totally going to do this one!

I love the idea of document the child and their likes, etc!  I like both the idea of doing it on a picture, but I also love the idea of the Free Printable above.  It gives them a place to draw a picture too!  Sources:  The Jobling Family and A Day in My Life

For younger kids, having something like this Happy Birthday Pre-K Pack out for them to do that day or even the whole week will be fun! It’s the reason I created the pack!

Be sure to make it known by the neighborhood that you are celebrating a Birthday at your house!

Here are a couple ideas for the front door:

How can you not LOVE the idea of a Birthday Balloon wreath?!?  This would be fun for the front door or even inside!  Source: Sew Sweet Cottage

Here are a few other things that I already do, my friends do or sisters do:

– Cover the room in balloons, so when they wake up they are covered in balloons!

– Do a countdown the week leading up to their birthday!

– Pick up your Bday child from school and take them out to a fun lunch!

– The morning of their birthday, wake up them up and take them out to breakfast in their jammies!

– Make your childs Bday cake!  My sister and one of my best friends does this and their kids LOVE being apart of the process!

– Have a birthday stocking (or present) that they get to open first thing in the morning!

Hope you get some fun ideas to help make your loved ones Birthday’s a little more fun!

What a fun round up! My kids loved bath time when they were little so the extra tub time would’ve been a big hit. Thanks for sharing at The Gunny Sack!
