GUMMY WORM POPSICLES

Kids love getting involved in the kitchen and these easy homemade popsicles will become a go-to popsicle they can make themselves!

Amounts and Instructions below are based on using 7 oz plastic cups and a 52 oz juice. Please note, that you can use honestly use any sized cup you prefer and any juice.

ITEMS NEEDED:

  • Juice (see juice options below)
  • 8 oz Gummy worms
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Plastic cups
  • Press N Seal or Plastic Wrap

HOW DO YOU MAKE GUMMY WORM POPSICLES?

The #1 tip I am going to share is when shopping for the ingredients to make Octo-Pop Popsicles, make sure you buy LONG gummy worms! Some of the sour gummy worms are too short and they won’t hang in the cup without falling in. Now let’s get started!

2 kinds of juice, with plastic cups filled with the juice. Hanging out of the juice is gummy worms. In front of the juice containers is a pile of popsicle sticks.

Grab some plastic cups and your juice of choice! One thing I love about making homemade popsicles is that you can make them any size! When my kids were younger, I would make miniature-sized popsicles! Now that they’re older I make medium and large popsicles! Whatever size cup you get, you’ll fill your plastic cups 85-90% full.

A can of pineapple juice and next to it is a plastic cup filled with the juice.

Sort your gummy worms to find the ones that will work the best. I personally like to use gummy worms that have a fold in them. You can see an example in the picture below. Place 6-8 gummy worms over the edge of the cup, so that half (or close to half) the gummy worm is down in the juice. It may take some adjusting and moving them to get them all to stay good.

Two gummy worms -- the one on the left is yellow and orange and straight. The one on the right is green and red and has a bend in it.

2 cups filled with pineapple juice and has gummy worms hanging out of the top of the cups.

After you put the gummy worms in the juice, poke a popsicle stick through the Press N’ Seal or Saran Wrap and place the stick down into the center of the cup of juice and press the saran wrap over the edges of the cup to secure the popsicle stick to stay standing straight up.

Two plastic cups, one filled with raspberry lemonade and one with pineapple juice. Both of gummy worms hanging out of the top of the cups and then Press N' Seal is covering the cups and a popsicle stick is stuck in the center of the cup.

Place in the freezer overnight and then enjoy the next day!
