Star Wars Day: May the Fourth Be With You!

May the 4th was created by Star Wars Fans. It’s a day to celebrate all the Star Wars films. The date was chosen for the pun on the catchphrase “May the Force be with you” as “May the Fourth be with you”. The phrase has been recorded as being used the first time back on May 4, 1979. However, it didn’t really take off as an unofficial holiday until social media came into play and Facebook groups start popping up in 2008. Since then, it just keeps growing and getting bigger!

Be one with the Force with this Star Wars Party Food guide!

Now that you know what it is, let’s talk about celebrating it! There really aren’t any rules! You can celebrate it as big or little as you want! When my kids were younger, we would just watch one of the movies and make a craft or two (see suggestions below). As they’ve gotten older, we now love to Marathon a few movies and make a whole snack table with Star Wars themed foods! My kids literally look forward to May the 4th as much as they do other holidays!

To help you celebrate May the 4th Be With You, I’m providing you printable food tags and a complete list of food suggestions below!

Not all of the suggested ideas have completed tags – some are just ideas. One of the pages has blank tags that allow you to add any food title that you want. This post is going to get a facelift in March and I do plan on adding more tags, but I haven’t had a chance to do so. Check back soon! Thanks!

Fix the Rolos! Han Solo is not Hans Solo, therefore it shouldn’t be “Hans Rolos”, it should be “Han Rolos.” Unless of course it’s showing ownership. Then it needs to have an apostrophe. “Han’s Rolos.”

    Sorry. #grammarpolice ??‍♀️?

I love your food labels and was planning to use them for my son’s party this weekend. There are a few more labels that I need though. Are you able to share the file you used to make these or would you be willing to change a few and email to me?

    Thank you!

You can import the page with the blank cards into any editing software, such as photoshop. There are also free website that you can use like PicMonkey.com or Gimp.com!

My sister is having a star wars themed birthday party next weekend. These labels are perfect! There are a few that I was wanting that you don’t have though. I had thought they were editable, but it turns out that they aren’t. I was wondering if you could send me an editable document or make the couple that I need that you don’t have? My email is [email protected].

Thank you Lisa! My daughter is asking for a SW themed birthday and these are perfect. Would you mind telling me what type of paper works best or if I should run to Kinkos? Thanks so much!

I love these! True last minute mommy form, my son’s birthday is this Saturday (Tomorrow) and I’m not sure what to use to print them on?

The download won’t open for me either. The error message says that parts of the download are corrupt or missing. Very clever idea! I’d love to use these tags for my son’s star wars themed birthday this Saturday!

Hi! Thanks so much for sharing these for free! They are perfect for a Star Wars themed party I am helping to organize. Which font and font size did you use and where would I be able to find it? I want to make a few additional labels. Thanks again!
